Dr Philip Rundle Athletics
Thanks to the generosity of the late Dr Rundle's family, a scholarship has been established for an outstanding male or female sprinter from the Sydney Uni Athletics Club. Philip Rundle was himself a successful 100 yard specialist and scored many tries as a winger with the Sydney Uni Football Club. He was awarded an Athletics Blue in 1941.
Marie Gavel Memorial
Marie Gavel was an early graduate of Science and a keen rower. She lived in Forbes and was known to have kept a radio by her side to listen to her son, Tim, broadcast on ABC. She passed away in 1998 and, in her honour, Tim and her daughter-in-law Dr Jenny Andrew, also a Sydney Uni graduate, established this scholarship for one male and one female rural, up and coming rower. The first scholarships were awarded in 2002.
