Steve Alderman, the Head Coach of the Sydney University Swimming Club, has had an influential role within the NSW swimming fraternity for over a decade. He has earned a Gold License Coach Accreditation and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Science Sports Coaching.
From 1995-2000 Steve held the position of Head Coach of the Academy Swimming Club and in 1998 was appointed Team Coach of the NSW Swimming Sharks. He joined Sydney University in 2000 as Assistant Coach and in the same year was appointed Swimming Development Officer, a position he held for two years. Within NSW Swimming Steve has carried the role of Head Coach for Sprint Freestyle.
In 2005 Steve was appointed the Australian Team Coach for the World University Games and this year coached the Fiji Swim Team at the Commonwealth Games.
During Steve’s involvement with Sydney University, the Swimming Club has flourished. A particular highlight was the involvement of three University swimmers – Michelle Engelsman, Elka Graham, and Brett Hawke - at the 2004 Athens Olympics
