Sydney University’s chances of making the play-offs in the NSW Super League competition go on the line in a catch-up game against St George on Wednesday and the final round of the competition – against Northern Tigers - on Sunday.

With Northern Tigers leading the competition on 52 points and St George sitting fourth on the ladder on 46, Sydney University (38) need to cause at least one upset to sneak past fifth-placed Central Coast Lightning (39) to earn a finals berth. Central Coast only has one round to play – against eighth-placed Granville Rage.

The prospects for Sydney University’s Under 20 side are slightly better. Sydney University (39) sit fifth behind PCYC Parramatta Eagles (66), Central Coast Lightning (60), Mt Druitt Town (41) and Granville Rage (41), but they have a catch-up match against St George and the final round against Northern Rogers to consolidate their finals spot.

Sydney University also entertains premiership hopes with a number of teams in the Premier League, Over-35 and All Aged competitions.

The Students lie sixth in Premier League I and Premier League II, second in the Over 35 competition, fifth in All Aged I, II, III and IV, fourth in All Aged V and second in All Aged VI.

Wednesday night’s catch-up game will be played at St George Stadium, with the kick-off First Grade kick-off scheduled for 8.15pm.
