Former Australian Women’s Under-19 Ultimate Frisbee representative Carol Seeto now has a national open title under her belt.
Playing with “Wildcard”, the 19-year-old defender helped the North Shore-based team to an Australian championship when they defeated Melbourne-based “Team Box” 15-10 in the final of the Open Women’s National Championships played in Melbourne.
Seeto, who is on Sydney University Sports’ 2007 Talented Athletes Program for Ultimate Frisbee and Touch Football, was a member of the Australian Under-19 team which competed at the 2006 World Junior Ultimate Championships in Boston, USA, before enrolling at Sydney University this year.
The National Open titles in Melbourne attracted 15 women’s and 15 men’s teams from across Australia, with the Wildcards playing 11 games in five days before claiming the title.
Melbourne-based “Chilly” claimed the national men’s title with a win over the North Sydney-based Fakulti S.
