HK Ward Gymnasium is situated between the two main ovals of the University. It represents a focal point for high performance sports, recreational activities and club sport.
The international standard sports hall was a training centre for Olympic handball during the 2000 Olympics. It comprises wood-sprung timber floors and international standard lighting. HK's newly refurbished facility caters for the elite athletes as well as the recreational user.
Casual and permanent bookings are available for clubs and individuals. Bookings can be made in person at the recreation office on the lower ground level of HK Ward Gymnasium or by phoning 9351 4988.
A large range of sports equipment is available for hire at the recreation office, including towels, balls, racquets (squash, tennis, badminton) and sports kits (baseball, cricket, softball, volleyball, rugby jerseys). A small fee and security deposit is applicable. Change room lockers are available for casual and permanent use. Conditions apply.
